Lawyer Pours Paint On Horthy Statue In Hungary

Lawyer Peter Daniel poured red paint on a wooden statue of inter-war regent Miklos Horthy in Kereki, Somogy county last Tuesday night. Daniel then hung a board with the caption “mass murderer, war criminal” in Hungarian around the statue’s neck. The statue, unveiled on Sunday has now been removed from its plinth and taken away.
96 Hungarian Policemen Fired For 2006 Abuses

A total of 96 policemen have been sacked for their conduct in autumn 2006, according to a summary provided to the cabinet by Interior Minister Sándor Pintér. Ten uniformed policemen convicted by a court will shortly be removed from the force. The state has paid Ft 270.5 million in compensation to 149 victims for police brutality committed in the autumn of 2006.

The group added such sentences in Hungarian to the new constitution as “self-organising IT groups can act against tyrants and lying hypocrites … tyranny can at any time be unseated by the people, who can rebel against it.”
