Hungarian President János Áder opened the memorial year marking the 200th birth anniversary of Hungarian poet and writer János Arany (1817- 1882) in his native town of Salonta (Nagyszalonta), today in western Romania. The primary aim of this exhibition is to spotlight, through symbolism, the relationship between the Hungarian Revolutions of 1848 and 1956, and in doing so, to reveal a continuity in the use of symbols that transcended changes in the political power structure.
