Hungarian Residency Bonds Most Popular Among Chinese Nationals

Most of the buyers of Hungary’s residency bonds have been Chinese, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér said in response to a written question he received from an opposition lawmaker. Under the scheme, foreign nationals buying 300,000 euros worth of government bonds can obtain a residency permit that can be extended for five years and allows its holder to travel freely in the Schengen zone.

Budapest Art Factory (BAF) is delighted to introduce the project of its July 2015 artist residents. The Czech artist duo, David Böhm and Jiří Franta, have spent a month at the premises of BAF which period ends with a solo exhibition. The show is open to the public until 19th of August, 2015 and can be visited by appointment.

Pascal Dombis (FR) completed his video installation titled The End(less) at the premises of BAF during his May residency. The piece will be broadcast in the evening hours on May 29, 2015 6-8. pm. at the Project Space of BAF.

Sales of residency bonds slowed down in March, after solid growth in the first two months, state debt manager ÁKK told Napi Gazdaság. Proceeds from the sale of the bonds, which grant residency status to non-EU citizens, reached €7.7 million in March after €16.7 million in both January and February.
