Many shops will be open on December 24, especially for grocery shopping, but all stores must shut at noon, under new laws restricting opening times on holidays.

The National Election Committee (NVB) sanctioned a referendum question on Sunday shopping restrictions and a signature drive can now be started in the interest of holding a referendum on the question. The question approved by the NVB was submitted by Gabriella Simon Gercsényi as a private individual on October 20, and then again on October 30 with some required changes.
