The opposition Democratic Coalition said the next government would have to lift the classification of data concerning the Paks nuclear plant. It is unclear whether the 30 years applies from the completion of the project or on the date when the contract is fulfilled, so in practice it could mean “sixty to a hundred years” from now, deputy leader László Varju said.

The European Union has done “virtually nothing” to tackle problems concerning human rights laws and practices in Hungary, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a report. The New York-based HRW called on the EU to take appropriate action and raised concern about the Hungary’s human rights record, stemming from “a raft of problematic laws and policies” initiated by the government.
