Hungarian telecommunication companies may face a rush of activity in the coming weeks as a deadline for registering pre-paid subscribers approaches, business daily Világgazdaság said on Monday. The art deco architect István Sajó was born in Debrecen, in Eastern Hungary. Despite a successful career in America, he returned home to the great Hungarian plain, where he built modern, exciting and spacious art deco buildings among the traditional, mostly single-storey, neo-classical houses lining the city’s streets. Sajó’s heart and soul belonged to Debrecen.

Home furnishings giant IKEA will open its third store in Budapest on June 14, the company told MTI. The 34,000sqm store, which cost almost 17 billion forints to build, will open in the south of city. IKEA’s other two stores are in the east of Budapest and in the west, on the capital’s outskirts.
