Sziget Festival Revenue Set To Reach HUF 6bn

Budapest’s Sziget Festival is expected to generate revenue of 6 billion forints (EUR 19m) this year, the organiser told business daily Világgazdaság. This year’s revenue will be “somewhat higher” than last year’s, Sziget managing director Károly Gerendai told the paper.

Sziget Festival has reached a new milestone by selling out all of the 7 Days Passes before July. The Island of Freedom will also set a new record in the number of nationalities represented at the event, as presales ticket buyers come from a total of 102 countries. The 21st Budapest Pride LGBTQ festival got under way on Friday evening. The events which will conclude on July 3 are organised by the Szivárvány Misszió (Rainbow Mission). The organisation’s head, Szilvia Nagy, called for political discourse not to be abusive, humiliating or degrading. She also expressed hope that the government spokesman would acknowledge Pride week.
