Free public access to the shores of Lake Balaton is likely to become a thing of the past now that the government has decided to reduce a state supplement to the local council tourism tax, the opposition Dialogue for Hungary (PM) said.

Hungary’s football team won €1 million for the Football Association (MLSZ) by defeating Austria in the first match of the group phase of the European Football Championships in France on Tuesday. The 24 teams that had advanced to the tournament each received €8 million. Each tournament victory is worth €1 million and a draw €500,000.

The more than 1500 programs taking place non-stop on the island can now be checked on the festival website.
