The Human Resources Ministry is about to grant a total of Ft 199.5 million from the general government reserves to three aid organisations for performing tasks related to migration, the ministry stated on Friday. The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, the Hungarian Red Cross and the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Organisation will each receive Ft 66.5 million.

Hungary’s secret services foiled a plan by migrants to set fire to refugee camps in Hungary last month, the tabloid Blikk reported on Thursday. Tapped telephone conversations indicated that some migrants called their contacts in the camps and instructed them to set fire to the camps.

The death rate has exceeded the birth rate in Hungary so far this year, the Central Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. In the first seven months of the year 52,235 babies were born, 352 or 0.7% more than in the same period of last year. However, the number of deaths totalled 78,709, which exceeded the figures of January-July 2014 by 5,163, or 7.0%.

Croatian authorities are transporting refugees in buses and trains to the Hungarian border, Népszabadság writes in a report from Beremend, where buses arrived in convoys yesterday. Hungarian authorities take the arrivals to buses which leave immediately for nearby Magyarbóly, where they are to be registered before being placed on trains to Austria.
