I really didn’t think that László Köver, president/speaker of the Hungarian parliament, could still surprise me. Yet he manages. Here is his latest. Parliament on Monday amended a 2011 law on education to reflect the fact that the government will raise teachers’ salaries by only 60% of the originally planned amount from September. The new law abolishes overtime pay and raises the number of mandatory teaching hours from 22 to 26 each week.
