The Diósgyőr castle in Hungary’s northeast opened its doors to the public after extensive renovations on Saturday. The castle was reconstructed at a cost of 2.714 billion forints (EUR 8.6m), mainly with EU support, László L. Simon, state secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, said at the opening ceremony.

Gőgös said he trusted that the Socialists will do well at the upcoming election despite ruling Fidesz’s “efforts before any election to make it difficult for the opposition”.
