Invitation: Lilith’s Legacy Exhibition, Ari Kupus Gallery Budapest
- 5 Nov 2012 8:00 AM
- entertainment
When we first saw Lilith there was a blizzard outside. It was on the second of November that we first saw her and this date is burned into our memories forever! Her home was wonderful, packed with paintings and sprawling plants. It reminded us of the Garden of Eden. When she talked about art, she was so passionate that we felt like she had demonic forces inside of her.

Matolcsy’s English is somewhat halting and while he was madly looking for words to describe the glorious Hungarian situation, he stumbled upon the phrase “fairy tale.” Well, the description of Hungary as a country that lives in ...

I’ve heard that people from afar can say or claim whatever they want about themselves. Putting a little twist on the original saying, people can say whatever they want about a person that comes from afar. In case of Nadja Massun, the proverb may be even truer since she does come from very far she lives in Mexico but was born in Africa to a Hungarian mother and a Belgian father.

Having a free Sunday morning on my hands, a friend and I visited the Szimplakert Haztaji Market. The great ambiance was still there. Almost every seller had samples out to try, whether it be szorp, jam, baked goods, spreads or cheese. All the sellers were friendly, chatty, and proud of their products.

"The significance of the 80.000-piece graphic collection of the Hungarian National Gallery is a little-known fact, since the paper-based objects are very sensitive and cannot be part of the permanent exhibition. That is why the paintings and sculptures of the 20th century permanent exhibition are complemented with our graphic cabinets of a changing thematic concept twice a year.
Xpat Opinion: The Right & The Left On Hungarian Achievements In London

I managed to avoid commenting on the Olympics for two solid weeks, but perhaps I ought to say something about the games in general, the Hungarians’ performance in particular, and the political sparring between left and right over the Olympics and its significance. A couple of decades ago I was an avid follower of Olympic events but eventually I became disillusioned. I wasn’t sure any longer about ...
