Budapest’s Szabadság (Freedom) square hosted a novel demonstration of sorts Saturday evening. Starting at 5:30 pm and lasting until 10 pm, the “We will not remain silent!” protest featured musical performances by a variety of musicians and DJs, as well as speeches by notable artists and activists. As many as 10,000 people mostly in their twenties and thirties attended.
Hungarian Foreign Minister: US-Russia Pact Needed To Resolve Syria Conflict

The conflict in Syria cannot be resolved without a US-Russia agreement “but we are currently furthest away from that”, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Friday. Szijjártó was attending the opening ceremony of an Apollo Tyres factory in Gyongyoshalasz, in northern Hungary, and was asked to comment about last night’s US air strikes in Syria.
