• Video: Migrants Breach Hungary's Razor Wire Fence

    Britain, France and Germany have called for reception centres to be set up, and the finger printing of migrants and refugees, once they arrive in Europe. The three countries have requested an emergency EU meeting, to be held in Brussels in two weeks time, to discuss "concrete" measures to better deal with the increasing numbers of new arrivals. The BBC's Damian Grammaticas reports from the city of Szeged.

  • Video: Hungary FM To Meet French Ambassador After Border Fence Remarks

    Hungary's foreign minister will meet the French ambassador later on Monday (August 31) after the French foreign minister's criticism of Hungary's so-called anti-migrant fence. Laurent Fabius said Hungary did not "respect the common values of Europe" by erecting barriers at its border. The meeting was scheduled to begin as more than 2,500 refugees and migrants on board a ship from the Greek island of Lesbos arrived in Piraeus port near Athens.

  • Video: Budapest Vigil For 71 Found Dead On Austrian Motorway

    Budapest residents and migrants came together in the Hungarian capital to hold a candlelit vigil for seventy one people who were found dead in the back of a truck in Austria. Authorities believe the truck began its journey in Hungary. Hungarian police have arrested several people in connection with the deaths. A number of Bulgarians and at least one Afghan are thought to be among those detained. Around 20 people are believed to have been questioned.
