We, the citizens of Hungary and everybody, who are concerned in, and could give a help, are responsible for the maintenance of the integrity of our national values and treasures. Notable among the latter is Malev Airlines, which has been highly regarded and a symbol of our national pride for over 66 years.

We’ve formed a Facebook community in an effort to unite Hungarians who agree that the health and stability of our nation’s airline is vital and, as such, are willing to take action that is meant to result in Malev Airline’s revival.

The online community is called ”We give wings to our dreams.” Our mission objective is the full restoration to service and subsequent safeguarding of the organizational integrity of the Hungarian National Airlines.

The community has initiated an effort to collect signatures in order to demonstrate that our citizens’ collective will to facilitate this revival is still in place and reiterate our resolution that we will not tolerate the dissolution of one of our oldest and most respected national companies.

We expect all 2,600 employees of Malev to join us on Facebook. In addition, we encourage all subcontractors, suppliers and affiliates of the airline whose livelihood would be placed in jeopardy as a result of the potential cessation of Malev’s operations to join us as well.

We invite Hungary’s wealthiest investors to consider the business opportunities and prestige associated with the revitalization of our national airline.

We look as well to the Hungarian Government to recognize that this initiative is one of national importance and pride. We firmly believe that if our government partners with its citizenry, our national airline can be rejuvenated and resume providing the quality of service that was a trademark of Malev for over 66 years.

In order to achieve the goal of the restoration of Malev Airlines, we propose and will proceed as follows:

A new community, involving Malev workers and management, in combination with the citizens of Hungary, and other foreign citizens, who are interested in give a help, will be formed to organize efforts in collecting donations. With the purchase of 1,000 Ft per share on par value, this community can contribute to the establishment of a new national airline whose name will be later determined by that community.

The issuance and purchase of shares would provide an opportunity to establish the capital requirements for a start-up company.

A civilian organization, as a minority stakeholder, would oversee the progress of the new national airline.

The purpose of this initiative is two fold. We, as citizens of Hungary, wish to take an active role in the reestablishment of a national airline, which will symbolize our national integrity and the power of our culture.

We would also like to demonstrate to the European and to the world that Hungarian society has the faith, perseverance and willpower to take concrete action on behalf of our country."
