Nyugati Park Plan Endorsed By Cabinet
The Nyugati Liget plan to create a large green space behind Nyugati train station has the endorsement of the cabinet, according to Népszabadság. The transformation of the area by covering the railway tracks could cost about Ft 215 billion, government sources said.

The cabinet set a deadline of April 30 for finalising the details of the concept. The huge park would be home to a boating pond and a large community space, as 4,000 trees will be planted and five cultural facilities will be built.

The Ferdinánd Bridge behind the WestEnd shopping mall will be replaced by a tunnel, and traffic will be considerably reorganised in the Sixth District and in the affected part of the 14th District.

Sources said that the cabinet office led by Antal Rogán is to come up with a name for the project.
