Opel was the most popular brand as 45,742 of its cars were resold followed by 34,099 Suzuki cars and 32,347 Volkswagen cars, DasWeltAuto said, citing figures compiled by Datahouse.

Some 76% of the used cars were more than 10 years old and only 11.9% were less than 5 years old.

Brand manager György Frank noted that the average age of used cars keeps creeping up and is now nearing 14 years.
