Online retail sales in Hungary are expected to climb 20% to 370-380 billion forints (EUR 1.2-1.25bn) this year, the head of national commerce association (OKSZ) said on public television.
Online retail sales have grown by a factor of ten in the past decade, György Vámos told public news channel M1.
He noted that the projection for this year does not include online sales of food or services.
Most of the sales are made by Hungarian webshops, rather than Asian or American, he added. Retail sales in December were up at least 4% over the 1,000 billion forints in the same month a year earlier, Vámos said.
