Housing Prices In Hungary Skyrocket Further
Housing was 15% more expensive, on average, in the first half of the year than in the same period of 2017, estate agents OTP Ingatlanpont said, based on home sales figures from the tax authority NAV.

The average price of residential space was Ft 336,000/m2 in the summer, the data show.

OTP Ingatlanpont said home prices in Budapest rose 12% on average in the first half, but the year-on-year price increase was even higher in the non-central 10th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 21st districts, at 15-20%.

In the downtown Fifth District, where home prices average Ft 820,000/m2, prices continued to trek higher, up 14% year-on-year in the first six months.

Elsewhere the average price rose fastest in Szekszárd, up 23% to Ft 226,000/m2, while the average in Kecskemét increased by 18% to Ft 310,000.
