Hungarian Competition Office Slaps Alza Webshop With Gigantic Fine
The competition office GVH has fined Czech-based electronic retailer Alza.hu Ft 892 million for unfair business practices, it was announced on Friday.

Alza had advertised "Black Friday" sales on six occasions between January 2018 and February 2019, offering discounts of up to 80%. However, the discounts did not apply to the products pictured in the ads.

Reduced prices were available on just 10-20 products, according to the inquiry.

The GVH said it aims with the heavy fine to reduce misleading advertisements on online markets during promotional periods, which have become popular in Hungary.
