Covid Update: 'Fourth Wave Becomes More Visible' in Hungary
The numbers of newly infected coronavirus patients, those hospitalised and those relying on ventilators have increased, according to official data.

The figure of 648 newly infected patients on the weekend is higher than the 521 of last Monday, but the fourth wave becomes more visible if one steps four weeks back, website 444 writes, as August 9 data showed 156 newly infected patients in the weekend summary.

The number of coronavirus infected patients in hospital rose rapidly on the weekend, from Thursday’s 149 to 194. One week ago, 98 Covid patients were in hospital, so their number has doubled.

Of those, 23 patients are on ventilators, as against seven a week ago.

Nine people died in three days over the weekend, up from four in the whole of the previous week.

There was a small rise in those inoculated for the first time, because of the inoculations at school.

The number of those inoculated totals 5,817,481, of whom 5,519,838 have received the second jab, and 404,000 a third injection.
