Dozens Quit Hungarian Semmelweis Medical University
At least 30 people quit the Semmelweis Medical University last week, due to poor work organisation, overwork, and the wage tension between doctors and nurses, Magyar Hang writes, citing several sources.

The university did not substantially deny the report, but said there had been no mass resignations.

The university said the average number of professionals was 7% higher this year than in May-October last year.

Magyar Hang writes that the satisfaction of healthcare workers was hampered by the increased workload due to the epidemic situation, the wage tension caused by the wage settlement for doctors, and the possibility of staff being assigned to other parts of the country. As a result, thousands did not sign a new contract last spring.

The previous ban on resigning was lifted this summer, and many have taken the opportunity since then.
