Budapest Chain Bridge Renovation Nears Its End
The asphalting of the Chain Bridge was completed in a single day yesterday, as the top layer of rolled asphalt was applied to the 2,400 square metres between the bridge spans.

This will be followed by the laying of asphalt strips covering the edges and the painting of the kerb coating and pavement markings. This means that the 18-month closure of the Lánchíd is nearing completion.

The bridge will be open to traffic in mid-December, but work on the pavements and underpasses will continue into next year.

In the coming weeks, work will continue on the neighbouring areas, starting with the restoration of Clark Ádám tér.
