Hungarian Noodle Maker Inaugurates HUF 1.4 Billion Expansion at Egg Farm
Hungarian noodle maker Gyermelyi inaugurated a HUF 1.4 billion expansion at its egg farm in Máriahalom (30 km northwest of Budapest) yesterday, according to hirado.hu.

The expansion raises the number of hens at the farm by 140,000 from 200,000 and brings the total number of hens at Gyermelyi's farms to 680,000, the managing director of the firm's egg unit, Csaba Réthy, said.

The company's annual egg output will rise from 140 million to 170 million, of which half will be sold fresh and the rest used for noodle production, he added. Gyermelyi was awarded HUF 700 mln in state support for the investment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said development in the farm sector is a "calling," noting that the profitability of a single hectare of Hungarian farmland is 53% of the European Union average.

Gyermelyi's noodle plant in Gyermely (35 km northwest of Budapest) turned out almost 42,000 tonnes of product last year; more than 35% of output was exported.

Borsodi held an event on April 20, where, apart from recalling the most important events and innovations in the brewery's history, the company also demonstrated how modern keg tapping technology works, with customer excellence director Tibor Őz explaining the secrets of a perfect pint to the audience.
