Dramatic Price Hikes at Sziget in Budapest May Keep Many Locals Out
The prices of tickets for the annual Sziget Festival have gone up so much that a weekly pass now exceed the Hungarian minimum net wage, Pénzcentrum reports.

The gross minimum wage is Ft 232,000, and the net pay is Ft 154,270, while the full priced weekly ticket sells for Ft 155,600.

One-day tickets cost Ft 38,000-42,222. A 17% rise since last year, while the prices of passes have risen by 38% since 2019.

The price of a weekly pre-purchased ticket is Ft 151,660, some 130% higher than ten years ago.

The Sziget festival runs for six days this year, on August 10-15, while in past years a weekly ticket was actually valid for a whole week.

This year’s high-profile performers include Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Macklemore and David Guetta.
