Kuria Ruling on Orban Libel Suit May Endanger Press Freedom in Hungary
The government is launching a new National Consultation, this time on the issue of economic neutrality, Prime Minister's Office leader Gergely Gulyas announced at a Wednesday press conference after the cabinet met on Tuesday.

The document, consisting of 11 questions to be announced later this week, will be sent to households in November and December and must be sent back before December 20.

The budget of the consultation will be transparent but will be made public only when the campaign is over, said Gulyas. The last one on sanctions against Russia cost Ft 2.7 billion.

Gulyas also said that the cabinet will examine residential rents, as improving the conditions of housing is a top priority for the cabinet.

In answer to a question shared on the social page of the European People's Party, urging the departure of Viktor Orban, he said neither the European Parliament, nor Brussels nor the People's Party has competence in that, but Hungarian voters who expressed an unequivocal opinion on that in 2022.

Regarding the European People's Party's declaration in a social media post that "Viktor Orban must go", Gulyas said the EPP and the European Commission had announced that they would like to see a new government in Hungary.

In addition, he maintained that Peter Magyar has lost his sovereignty and independence "and he is in the grip of Brussels".

In response to a question about possible rail links to Budapest airport, Gulyas said a railway line and an expressway to the airport will be built, but he does not know which will be completed sooner.

The cabinet has not yet decided whether the national railway network should be extended to Ferihegy or whether to build a separate track there, he added.
