Funding Cuts Cripple Largest Healthcare Institution in Budapest’s 17th District
The state health insurance fund NEAK has halved its funding for daylong surgery and outpatient services at HT Medical Centre, the largest healthcare institution in Budapest’s 17th District, the medical institution announced.

This means that half as many patients dependent on social insurance can be given medical attention in the future, the management of the medical centre wrote on Facebook.

HT Medical indicated two years ago that it could not fund healthcare services for the entire district without restrictions.

Management said that the funding per patient has still not changed but costs have doubled, adding that this will result in a further increase of hospital waiting lists.

They added that they have indicated the problem to those whom it may concern but to no avail so far.
