Village Pubs & Wine Bars in Hungary to Be Included in Tourism Sector Support Programme

The government's HUF 13bn tourism sector support programme will be extended to include village pubs, bars and wine bars from March, National Economy Minister Marton Nagy said.

Small pubs operating in settlements with a population of less than 1,000 will be eligible for a combined HUF 1bn in support, the minister said on Facebook.

The programme has so far supported more than 3,300 restaurants, cake shops and buffets, he added.

Successful applicants can spend a maximum of HUF 3m on operating costs or finance energy efficiency investments.

Applications can be submitted from March 3.
