The store now boasts more than 600 square meters of retail space.
DIEGO has maintained a presence in Zugló since 2000, and this Tesco location is the company’s fourth store in the district. In addition to the 600 sqm shop floor, the site includes nearly 200 sqm of warehouse space and houses inventory worth hundreds of millions of forints.
Customers can find a broad range of floor coverings, garden furniture, and accessories tailored to both indoor and outdoor needs.
Partnership With Tesco Aims to Enhance Convenience
“The Zugló Diego store is our largest floor-space collaboration with Tesco,” said Balázs Varga, managing director of Diego.
“We already operate in more than 10 Tesco locations, with seven of those stores running under the shop-in-shop model. This setup allows our full product range to be easily accessible during regular grocery shopping trips, helping customers save time by offering everything in one place. With the shop-in-shop system, we aim to get even closer to our customers and make the shopping experience even smoother,” he added.
Corporate Social Responsibility at the Forefront
In addition to prioritizing customer satisfaction, Diego also places strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility. To mark the reopening, the company donated HUF 500,000 to a local community through a competition organized in partnership with the Sharity platform, targeting civil organizations in Zugló.
Five organizations submitted applications, with the final decision left to a public vote. The National Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (MVGYOSZ) received the most votes, winning a Diego voucher worth HUF 500,000 to be used at the Zugló store.
MVGYOSZ plans to use the donation to furnish its recently renovated facility. The organization aims to make its community spaces more comfortable, professional, and accessible.
“Our event spaces still have untapped potential. Our goal is to increase their utilization by offering a broader and more diverse range of programs for both visually impaired and sighted visitors,” the organization stated.
