New Free Beach in Budapest by Danube
From 12 August, Budapest will have a new place to cool off in the Danube: the Duna-fürdő Árasztó-part free beach. The city hopes the project will help reconnect locals with the river, making the Danube’s banks part of daily urban life once again.

The bathing area is the result of a long-term collaboration between Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt. (BGYH), the 11th District Local Government (Újbuda), and the VALYO Association, initiated by the Municipality of Budapest.

Located in the 11th district on the Árasztó shore, the beach is designed to be both safe and freely accessible, offering visitors the unusual combination of city energy and riverside nature.

Getting there

The site is easy to reach: take bus 33 or cycle along the riverside bike path (bike storage is available on-site).

Opening dates & hours

The Duna-fürdő Árasztó-part will be open daily from 12–31 August 2025, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., depending on the weather, water level, and water quality.
