Consumer Price Index Falls Below 4% in Hungary, But Eggs & Cooking Oil Up Over 10%

Food prices rose 3.2pc, but increased just 0.6pc excluding the price of eating out. The price of eggs jumped 11.2pc and cooking oil prices climbed 10.1pc, but the price of flour dropped 15.3pc, dairy product prices fell 11.4pc, the price of milk was down 8.1pc and pork was 7.8pc cheaper.
Household energy prices rose 9.8pc as piped gas prices climbed 22.0pc and electricity prices increased 2.1pc.
Consumer durable prices rose 2.9pc.
Motor fuel prices fell 5.0pc.
Prices of spirits and tobacco products increased 7.5pc and clothing prices rose 1.4pc. Service prices were up 6.5pc.
CPI adjusted for better comparison with other European Union member states was 3.7pc.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fuel and food prices, was 4.1pc.
The CPI calculated with a basket of goods and services used by pensioners was 3.7pc.
In a month-on-month comparison, consumer prices edged up 0.1pc. Food prices, excluding the price of eating out, were unchanged. Service prices edged down 0.1pc, household energy prices slipped 0.4pc and motor fuel prices dropped 0.6pc.
