Mobile Services Drive 59% of Telecom Revenues in Hungary
Telecom service providers had revenue of HUF 339bn in Hungary in the first quarter, with mobile voice and mobile internet services making up 59pc, according to a summary published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH).

Revenue from mobile voice and mobile internet services came to HUF 201bn. Fixed internet services generated revenue of HUF 66bn, broadcasting services HUF 40bn, other telecom services HUF 22bn and fixed voice services HUF 10bn.

The average duration of mobile calls and landline calls remained unchanged or barely changed at 3.7 minutes and 6.2 minutes, respectively. Around 97pc of calls were initiated from mobile networks.

The number of television subscriptions fell 2.0pc from a year earlier to 3.4m.

The number of fixed-line internet subscriptions edged 0.7pc higher during the period.

Mobile data traffic increased 20pc from a year earlier. Data traffic per one mobile subscription providing internet access averaged 41 Gbytes.
