Xpat Interview: Clarence Joubert du Cellier, Former Director of Le Gourmet de Bordeaux

After finishing his Intentional Trade studies in France, he came in Budapest for a “very secret reason” and started to work in Finance for Multies.
He missed a lot the French Gastronomy of his region so he had the idea to launch his own company. Le Gourmet de Bordeaux was then born in March 2012.
Its main activities are to organize various tastings (public and private) and sell French products as a wholesaler and retailer via his webshop (www.legourmetdebordeaux.com)
Clarence like doing sports, especially rugby that he plays in Budapest in an international team (Budapest Exiles RFC) and had the extraordinary luck to be part of the Hungarian National selection at XV and VII.
1. I arrived in Summer 2008. I guess for the same reason as many expat living here.
2. I only spend 1 year in Dublin, Ireland. I was not strictly speaking an expat although I lived in a foreign country for a while when I was fourteen years old.
3. The difference between French and Hungarian prices.
4. They must go to the « Citadella », the “; and the “Széchényi fürdő;. They must eat a good goulash and drink a good tokaj 4-5-6 puttonyos.
5. It’s not without purpose that the Goulash is this famous. Well cooked it can be a real delight! I appreciate a good Kadarka or a good Villany with for instance a « belsznbsp;budapest m ».
6.« Er?ista » and « torma ». It can go very well with a lot Hungarian and international dishes.
7 .Without any doubt: « Papagnbsp;»
8. I miss of course my family, friends and my little town « Eymet ». I miss also a few food products that can’t be found on the Hungarian market such as for instance “Chipolata” sausages.
9. I really love my actual work so not need to change or consider any other jobs for now.

11. I was in Montpellier for a trade-fair and after spend a little time in Bordeaux and Eymet in France.
12. I hope I will be able to go to the Adriatic Sea to spend some time fishing and diving there.
13. I have been playing Rugby since my childhood until now.
14. A good glass wine or Champagne
15. It is really depending on my food or mood. I do really like both so impossible for me to choose one.
16. Book. I really like reading before sleeping.
17. I have to be fresh in the morning but I am more a “night person”.
18. The overall European crisis and all that follows…
19. Buda for the peace and Pest for the social living!
