The largest ever conference on Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet uprising will be organised this week in Eger, in northern Hungary, the head of the 1956 Institute Foundation said. The three-day conference starting on Thursday will feature 258 speakers, including historians, sociologists, psychologists, literary historians, art historians, artists as well as musicologists, M János Rainer said.

The fair is the second largest literary event in Asia and the fourth largest such event in the world that last year featured 700 publishing houses from 70 countries, István Íjgyártó said.
