The gradual introduction of electronic ticketing starts in December this year with over 1,500 employees of the Budapest transport centre (BKK) to receive an electronic card at the start of the month, business daily Világgazdaság said. People over 65 will receive e-tickets next, to be followed by annual pass holders and Budapest pass holders.

Between 15,000 and 20,000 Hungarian football fans could travel to France next year to support the national team in the European Championship, daily Magyar Nemzet said. Gábor Szabados, a sports economist, told the paper that 60-70% of the fans would travel to France by car or bus.

There is no direct evidence that Hungary has made any losses in connection with Volkswagen’s emission scandal, the economy ministry said in response to the opposition Dialogue for Hungary (PM) party’s question regarding losses. It would be premature to guess if any tax revenue was lost in connection with the vehicles registered in Hungary, the ministry said.

A total of 962 development projects co-financed by the European Union are currently delayed, business daily Világgazdaság reported. Citing cabinet office information, the paper said that at the end of the third quarter the state sector and local councils were 150 billion forints (EUR 480m) behind schedule in taking up EU monies.
