Dr. Beck served as Chief Executive Officer of Hewlett-Packard Hungary since 2002. From 1998 to 2002, he worked for Compaq (later acquired by Hewlett-Packard), first as Hungary Chief Executive Officer then as Chief Executive Officer for the CEE region.

He went on to read Business Studies at the International Business School in Budapest. He then starting his fast-track career with Nestle in the summer of 2002.

"The global financial crisis has caused a further setback to euro adoption timetables in most EU member states in central and eastern Europe (CEE), owing to a marked widening of budget deficits and higher sovereign bond spreads, Fitch Ratings has said in a new report on Thursday. The exception, in the rating agency’s view, is Estonia, which Fitch expects to join the euro area in January 2011.
