On 4th November, the internationally famous Dutch designer, Marcel Wanders personally handed over the Award he founded to the graduates of MOME’s (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest) Design Institute. On the basis of his master diploma project, a textile and fashion design graduate, Richard Marton received the main award that also comes with a 1,500 Euro prize.

The municipal assembly has approved a twinning agreement proposal between Budapest and Odorheiu Secuiesc (Székelyudvarhely), a city in Romania’s Szekler Land. According to the draft, twinning between the two cities is symbolic, creating a link between the “capital of the nation” and the “Szekler capital”.

The Budapest Municipal Council will not have enough money to upgrade the stations on the third metro line unless the budget for the revamp is raised from central coffers, Budapest Mayor István Tarlós said on Friday. If the budget for the project remains “capped” at the current 140 billion forints (EUR 458.3m), plans to upgrade the stops will have to be abandoned, Tarlós told a press conference.
