The protection of Hungarian national interests in the European Union is the main task of Hungarian MEPs, representatives of the ruling Fidesz party in parliament's national cohesion committee said today. Deputy head of the committee, Balázs Hidvéghi, said only Fidesz-Christian Democrats were capable of resolutely representing and protect Hungarian interests in the EU.

Hungarian women earn, on average, about 21% less than men, according to data collected by fizetések.hu, a salaries site run by jobs portal Workania. The fresh data show men earned on average 220,000 forints a month last year, while women took home just 173,400 forints.
