Open Air Design Fair: WAMP Returns To Erzsébet Square

The first open air WAMP fair this year is eagerly awaited by shoppers with a keen eye for design, especially as after the grey winter days everyone is looking to spending time (and money) outdoors again. On the last weekend of April we all have the chance to check out designer products in the open air at Erzsébet square, in downtown Budapest.

October 23 is a national holiday in Hungary, commemorating the 1956 revolution against the Soviet rule, which was later crushed by brute force. The uprising began as a spontaneous nationwide revolt against the government of the Hungarian People’s Republic and its Soviet-imposed policies, lasting from 23 October until 10 November 1956. The first BIDF will show 32 features and 9 short documentaries between September 25 and 28. The films presented personally by their creators will compete in four special categories. A selection of the best Hungarian documentaries of the past 25 years will also be shown.

Sometimes shops are given names that doesn’t exactly describe what is actually is. That is the truth for the Chocolate museum (original name: Csokolade muzeum) located in Corvin shopping center. It is a great place for chocolate lovers, but I guess the reality is that the place is more of a chocolate shop than a chocolate museum.
