The European Commission (EC) has given the green light to a cross-border cooperation programme between Hungary and Austria worth 30 billion forints (EUR 95m). The commission Interreg funds will cover 78 million euros. The commission’s statement cites Corina Cretu, commissioner for regional policies, as saying that the Austrian-Hungarian border is invested in symbolic significance.

Network taxi company Uber has presented a five-point proposal to authorities to solve the current dispute with ordinary taxi companies. Uber suggests that its business model be legalised in order to make it possible to pay taxes. Talks with nearby localities involved in the Paks nuclear upgrade project have shown that there is a need for a new Danube bridge linked to the Paks project, the government spokesman said.
