A commemoration was held on Sunday at the Dohány Street Synagogue to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Budapest ghetto. Head of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz) András Heisler said this day is determined by the twin feelings of mourning for the dead and the joy of the liberation.

A realistic deadline for introducing a traffic congestion charge in Budapest is the end of next year, István Tarlós, the city’s mayor, told Népszabadság in an interview.
