It’s been a good couple of years since I've set foot on The Island of Freedom, but the Sziget 2017 festival line-up is one of the most exciting in a long time for many @expatintheloop. Balaton Sound, the 5-day non-stop music festival held on the beach of Lake Balaton between 2 - 9 July, offers more than 20 on-site venues. The line-up of nternational artists this year includes acts such as Kygo, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Axwell Ingrosso, Tiësto, Marshmello.

The Vajdahunyad Castle in the city’s largest park, Városliget, hosts an Easter Lamb Festival for the 2nd time in 2017. This is the place to taste lamb, and other dishes popular on the spring holiday prepared in traditional and modern styles.

On Friday, several buildings in Budapest were lit up in green in celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day. On Sunday, the Irish national holiday was celebrated by a parade around the city. The Hungarian capital has joined the campaign of the Irish Tourist Board to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day worldwide.
