The warmest summer month is here, and now its time for the hottest design fair in Hungary, WAMP, to be held again in downtown at Erzsébet Square. The 197foot ferris-wheel (60 meters high) it's been ready since 7th of June on Erzsebet Square and will stay there until the 21st of July. After that, it will be moved to the Sziget Festival.

Update: Today the organisers confirmed this event will go ahead despite the flooding situation. "A festival in the heart of Budapest for free?" Yes, that’s right. The local government of Lipótváros (V district) is organizing the traditional and increasingly popular Belvárosi Festival (BelFeszt) between the 7th and 9th of June.

Sour-cherry is in focus at this year's festival, and so pálinkas and other local delicacies made of this fine Hungarian fruit will play a starring role between May 16 - 19. Once again held in downtown Szabadsag square, with over 400 spirits available for tasting from 25 exhibitors.
