The number of landings at the Ferenc Liszt Airport will be about 82,000 this year, down from 110,000 a year earlier, operator Budapest Airport spokesman Mihály Hardy said. This is about how many landings there were a decade ago, he said. Most of the airport’s revenues come from landing fees.

Budapest Airport will permanently close Terminal 1 early on the night of May 29, the operator of Ferenc Liszt International Airport announced yesterday. Terminal 1 traffic, mostly from discount airlines, will move to Terminal 2. Flights by easyJet, Germanwings, Jet2.com, Norwegian and Wizz Air will depart from Terminal 2B starting May 30.

Budapest Airport will move all airline operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 during the night of 29-30 May 2012. As of 30 May 2012, all passengers of easyJet, Germanwings, Jet2.com, Norwegian and Wizz Air will depart from Terminal 2B of Budapest Airport. Passengers of these airlines will arrive at Terminal 2A (from Schengen countries) or at Terminal 2B (from non-Schengen countries).
