The number of Hungarian tourists in Croatia rose by 10.7 percent to 73,600 in the first half of the year, compared to the same period in 2013, the Budapest representative of the Croatian Tourist Board told MTI on Tuesday. The Hungarians spent 6.1 percent more time in Croatia, a total of 290,700 nights in January-June, compared to the first half of last year, Marin Skenderovic said.

Hungarian tourism is growing rapidly but most foreign tourists arrive independently so travel agencies that mainly cater to foreign tour groups are not generally cashing in on the boom, business daily Világgazdaság said. Hungary Guest Nights Climb 13.5% In January

The number of guest nights in commercial accommodation in Hungary rose an annual 13.5 percent to 1,096,000 in January, the Central Statistical Office said. The number of guest nights spent by foreign visitors rose 11.2% to 566,527. The number spent by Hungarian guests climbed 16% to 529,143.
