Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa has announced that it is launching a direct flight connecting the Bavarian capital Munich with Hungary’s second city of Debrecen from next April. Lufthansa will operate the flight all-year-round, three times a week, the company’s regional director for the Central-East European region said.
First 56-Meter-Long CAF Trams Will Start Operating In Budapest Next Spring

The 56 meter long CAF trams are expected to start running on line nr 1 next spring. Tram drivers are already practising to drive it on simulators. Deputy Mayor Balázs Szeneczey explained during the ceremony that the new, Spanish-made tram is the longest one in the world, it has 86 seats and its passenger capacity is 345.

Hungary has offered to contribute an additional 1 billion forints (USD 3.47m) for international climate management and the success of the Paris climate summit on top of the 1 billion forints previously offered for the Green climate fund operating under a United Nations framework agreement, a development ministry official said.

Hungary is still in talks with the European Commission on more than 600 billion forints (EUR 1.92bn) in European Union funding for the 2007- 2013 period, state secretary Péter Benő Banai said. A Monday release by the economy ministry showed Hungary’s cash-flowbased budget deficit, excluding local councils, reached 970.7 billion forints at the end of November or 108.8% of the full-year target.
