The level of protection for high-quality Hungarian food must not be lowered, Sándor Fazekas, the agriculture minister, said in Brussels. Both countries are interested in finding a peaceful solution as soon as possible to the Ukrainian- Russian crisis so that their exporters can return to the Russian market, he added.

The case was filed by László Vékony of Sopron, in western Hungary, who lost his licence to sell tobacco products after Hungary decided to make the retail trade of tobacco a state monopoly.
