The Pancho Arena of the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy in the village of Felcsút was inaugurated on Monday. The stadium located in the village near Budapest where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán owns a cottage, and built at a cost of 3.8 billion forints (EUR 12.4m), meets the UEFA 2 standards, making it suitable to host play-off rounds and matches between national teams.

A decision by the International Olympic Committee’s executive committee to remove wrestling from the list of core Olympic sports has caused shock in Hungary. Hungarian Wrestling Federation president Tamás Gáspár called the move a bolt of lightning out of the blue “I simply cannot understand it. I thought wrestling had a stable place in the Olympic programme”.

But a win’s a win, right? It was at a fantastic event which the Embassy supported. A competition for able-bodied children and children with disabilities to celebrate 100 days to go to the London Olympics.
