The first Hungarian translation of various sections of the Talmud was presented in Budapest on Wednesday. Published by the Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation (EMIH), the edition contains the Hungarian translation of 19 chapters of the Talmud in two volumes containing the original texts in Hebrew and Aramaic with explanatory notes.

From the organisers: This summer, until 17 August, the Vajdahunyad Castle Summer Music Festival cordially invites everyone to its programs, offering seven classical music concerts and performances by the Budapest Bar, the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra and the Sabbathsong Klezmer Band. Israel and Jewish culture will be in focus at this year’s CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival held between October 6 and 22, the chief organiser said. Programmes featuring Israeli art will include acts by the Israel Ballet, the Avishai Cohen Trio and Avi Avital and Omer Avital, Csaba Káel said.
