The Budapest assembly approved a decision to spend over one billion forints (EUR 3.3) on purchasing 7,000 LED lights for public lighting. Under the decision, passed with 24 votes in favour and with 5 abstentions, a public procurement bid will be announced to select a supplier. The radical nationalist Jobbik party, however, said that approved amount was one-and-a-half times the market price.
State Paid HUF 120 Million In Damages To Prisoners So Far This Year

The Hungarian state has paid a total of HUF 120 million (USD 461,000) so far this year in damages to prisoners who lodged complaints over unacceptable conditions of their detention, reports pro-government daily Magyar Hirlap.
